Igor Makovskiy held the Headquarters of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region in the Kostroma region

16 May 2021

General Director of the power grid companies organized a visiting meeting of the Headquarters of the Companies in the Makaryevsky district on the issue of eliminating consequences of a thunderstorm, squall wind up to 23 metres per second and tornado phenomena.

Power engineers were mobilized as much as possible and quickly began to carry out emergency recovery work. In total, 174 crews of 767 people and 242 vehicles are involved in it, including those from other branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. Redundant power supplies are used to restore power supply.

The Headquarters heard a report on the completion of the elimination of technological violations in the power grids of the Nizhny Novgorod region. It was also decided to regroup forces and equipment in the most affected by the bad weather municipalities of the Kostroma region: the Makaryevsky, Kadyisky, Ostrovsky, Neisky, Sudiglavsky, Manturovsky, Antropovsky, Kologrivsky, Parfenyevsky districts.

In addition, the head of the energy companies and members of the Headquarters personally examined the consequences of the hurricane that hit the region last evening. A wind funnel of high destructive power literally demolished everything in its path. The tornadoes caused hundreds of trees to fall from outside the security zones on the power lines.

«The disaster has caused significant damage to the region. Serious work has now been carried out to eliminate the consequences of abnormal weather events; by the end of the day, most consumers in the Kostroma region will be powered. The power engineers will continue to work until the full restoration of power supply to the residents of the region,» noted Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.
