A particle of the Eternal Flame went from the walls of the Kremlin to the memorial to the energy heroes, which will open on Saturday, 19 September

A solemn ceremony was held to transfer a particle of the Eternal Flame from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall in Moscow for its subsequent lighting at the memorial complex to the energy heroes in the city of Tula.

The ceremony was attended by the Great Patriotic War veteran, a power engineer with 45 years of experience Vladimir Stepichev and Director General of PJSC Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy. The symbolic torch was lit in the Alexander Garden and sent to Tula, where the memorial will be opened on 19 September.

The memorial complex to the heroes of power engineering was created on the initiative of Director General of Rosseti Pavel Livinskiy and Governor of the Tula Region Alexey Dyumin. The opening is timed to celebrate the Day of the Gunsmith. The eternal flame will be lit in front of the obelisk in the form of a high-voltage power line pole, which is the centrepiece of the complex.

The solemn ceremony was held with the participation of the Guard of Honour company of the 154th separate commandant Preobrazhensky regiment. The security of the transmission of the particle of the Eternal Flame is ensured by specialists of JSC “MOSGAZ”. Gas workers in Moscow have been serving the device of the Eternal Flame from the very first day of its lighting at the Kremlin walls.
