Igor Makovskiy: Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region are among the leaders in the social efficiency rating of the largest Russian companies

AK&M Rating Agency has published the results of the third rating of social efficiency of the largest Russian companies. The study was conducted to show companies that bring maximum benefits to society with minimal impact on the environment and to find a balance between the burden of enterprises on the environment and their positive impact on society. The rating participants were ranked according to the ratio of social effect indicators (the amount of payments to the budget, for charitable purposes, expenses for environmental protection, etc.) and the burden on the environment.

In the final overall rating, Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region were among the leading companies demonstrating the highest level of social efficiency. Rosseti Centre took the third place, Rosseti Centre and Volga Region entered the TOP-15.

“Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region operate in 20 regions of the country. The companies make a significant contribution to their development, providing reliable and high-quality power supply, creating capacities for new industries, social facilities and housing construction, timely and conscientiously fulfilling their tax obligations, actively participating in socially significant promotions and events. We are systematically engaged in minimizing the negative impact of production processes on the environment, strictly monitoring compliance with all norms and requirements in this area. It is gratifying that our efforts were highly appreciated by the expert community. We intend to further increase the efficiency of activities in all of the above areas,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

In the first half of 2020, Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region allocated about 30 million rubles for the implementation of the Environmental Safety Program. The companies are implementing about 50 environmental measures aimed at ensuring environmentally balanced development of the electric power industry, protection and rational use of natural resources, and ensuring the safety of wildlife. Among them there is replacement of electrical equipment with modern samples with increased environmental friendliness, reliability, durability; systemic control of the content of the amount of pollutants at stationary emission sources and in the sanitary protection zones of production sites; improvement and greening of premises of enterprises.

In January-June, Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region purchased and installed about 12 thousand special bird protection devices on overhead line poles. In total, the energy companies plan to spend more than 90 million rubles on environmental measures during the year.

In the summer of 2020, Rosseti Centre received a certificate of compliance of the environmental management system with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001:2015. The document was issued by the Certification Association “Russian Register” based on the results of an audit of the company’s management and production activities carried out in June by independent auditors. According to the results of the audit, the personnel of Rosseti Centre demonstrated high competence, involvement in the environmental management system, a responsible approach to the conservation of natural resources, the desire to minimize the negative impact on the environment, actively seek and implement new environmental technologies.

In the first half of the year, contributions from Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region to budgets of different levels and extra-budgetary funds amounted to 18.772 billion rubles. In terms of tax payments, the branches of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region are regularly ranked among the largest taxpayers in their regions.

Since the beginning of the year, Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region have implemented a number of socially significant initiatives. One of the largest among them was the creation and development of a large-scale volunteer movement in the companies during the coronavirus pandemic. Volunteer headquarters, which opened at the beginning of April in all 20 branches of the Companies, united more than 500 volunteers and were quickly integrated into the work of regional volunteer headquarters within the framework of the all-Russian movement #WeTogether.

Energy volunteers help all residents of the regions where the companies are present who need it. In total, about 2,500 people have already used it. In addition, they actively participate in actions aimed at improving and maintaining a healthy ecological state of historical, cultural and memorable sites. So, on the eve of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, the volunteers of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region landscaped and put in order 249 monuments, memorials and burial places of participants in the Great Patriotic War. Currently, they continue to patronize them. The volunteers of the energy companies also actively participate in other socially significant federal, regional and corporate environmental projects.
