Igor Makovskiy: Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region saved over 30 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first half of the year

14 August 2020

Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region summed up the results of the implementation of the Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Program for the first half of 2020. The total effect of its implementation amounted to 32.9 million kWh. The branches of Tambovenergo, Vladimirenergo, Nizhnovenergo demonstrated the greatest efficiency in the implementation of the Program.

“Energy saving is not only an important element of ecological culture, but also one of the key components of sustainable development of modern companies. The use of energy-efficient and energy-saving technologies makes it possible to reduce losses in grids, improve the reliability and quality of power supply to consumers, and allocate additional funds to address priority production tasks related to ensuring energy security in 20 regions of the country,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.

Reduction of losses was achieved due to the replacement of wires with a self-supporting insulated wire (SIW), organizational measures for redistribution of loads at substations and through the implementation of the Digital Transformation Program.

Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, within the framework of the digital transformation concept, are actively working to create an intelligent energy management system. In particular, they equip the regions of their operational responsibility with “smart” electricity metering devices. The use of smart metering devices allows not only to improve the quality and accuracy of electricity metering, but also to promptly identify and eliminate sources of its losses, minimize the possibility of external interference in the operation of devices in order to steal energy resources.

Measures to optimize the consumption of energy resources for utility needs brought a total saving of 841 tons of standard fuel.

The total expected effect from the implementation of energy saving measures at Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region at the end of 2020, according to the plan, should amount to 61.1 million kWh, the effect of optimizing energy consumption for utility needs is 1,205 tons of standard fuel.
