Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, summed up the results of 2020 and identified key priorities for the new calendar period

26 December 2020

Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, held an annual press conference dedicated to the company’s activities in 2020 and spoke about plans for the coming year. The event was held in Moscow at the Main Analytical Centre of the companies. More than 100 representatives of federal and regional media were present in person and online.

Igor Makovskiy said that despite the difficulties associated with the pandemic, the companies fulfilled all obligations to ensure reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers and continued to implement their investment plans.

“At this moment we introduced risk-oriented models, established a clear control over the expenses that the company incurs within the framework of operating activities. We continued to invest in the development of the power grid infrastructure, but we did so precisely in those facilities that were important for the socio-economic and industrial development of the territories. And today this gives the regions an opportunity to very quickly restore economic indicators,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

In 2020, the companies almost completed the first stage of the Digital Transformation Program. The Grid Control Centre (GCC) in the Kostroma region and the Interregional GCC in the Kursk region, city dispatch centres in Arzamas and Dzerzhinsk of the Nizhny Novgorod region were commissioned, and 3 more digital GCCs in the Vladimir, Ryazan and Kaluga regions will be commissioned in the near future. The construction of 5 digital substations has been completed, work has been completed on the creation of 26 Digital Distribution Zones.

As Igor Makovskiy noted, with a general decrease in electricity consumption, Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region have significantly increased the income from non-tariff earnings. First of all, we are talking about the development of additional services.

“The aggregate inflow of funds from non-tariff revenue already exceeds the inflow from our main process - payment for grid connection. Our strategic plan envisages increasing the volume of non-tariff revenue to 11 billion rubles by 2024,” Igor Makovskiy told reporters.

General Director of the companies said that the most in demand today are services for setup of outdoor lighting and support for grid connection, new services are also being introduced. As an example, he cited the completion of work in the Belgorod region within the framework of the first contract in the company’s history for installation of in-house networks.

The development of additional services is an unconditional priority for the companies for 2021 as well. In addition, the creation of new Grid Control Centres, Digital Distribution Zones will continue and the scaling of the projects “Robot Operator” (informing consumers about planned outages), the “Predict R” software package, which, on the basis of BIG DATA, determines the likelihood of electricity theft at each point of delivery, as well as project of an automated system for diagnostics of overhead lines, where unmanned aerial vehicles are used.
