Rosseti Centre eliminates the aftermath of the hurricane that hit regions of the Central Federal District and Volga Federal District

The powerful thunderstorm front that struck the Central and Volga Federal Districts last night and, in the night, led to power outages in several regions where Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region are present. The bad weather caused technological failures in the operation of power facilities of the Tver, Yaroslavl, Smolensk and Kaluga regions, the Tver region was most affected.

Please, be reminded that in the evening of 7 July rain with thunderstorms, hail and strong winds was recorded in the region, with some gusts reaching 15-20 m/s. According to the forecasts of regional meteorologists, the thunderstorm can last even till the 8th, and the wind will increase to 25-30 m/s.

In the Tver region, the headquarters of Rosseti Centre for emergency recovery operations have been deployed, headed by the company’s General Director Igor Makovskiy. Additionally, 115 crews of 556 people and 120 vehicles were mobilized from other regions to quickly bring the electric grid complex of the Tver region to a normative state and prevent mass outages.

Currently, power engineers are working to eliminate blackouts in the Kalininsky, Rameshkovsky, Kimrsky districts of the region. 70 crews of power engineers consisting of 115 people are working to eliminate power outages, involving 48 specialized vehicles. To ensure the uninterrupted operation of social facilities, reserve sources of electricity supply in the amount of 48 units with a capacity of 30 kW and above are used.
