Igor Makovskiy: “The digital transformation of the electric grid complex is an absolute priority for the energy sector”

19 June 2020

General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy had a working visit to the Ryazan region.

During the visit, Igor Makovskiy met with Governor of the Ryazan Region Nikolay Lyubimov, held a series of meetings, introduced the new leader to the Ryazanenergo team and checked the progress in implementing digital projects in the region.

The head of the energy companies checked the implementation of the digital transformation “roadmap” and visited the site where the reconstruction of the Grid Control Centre is underway. This is one of the key projects of the enterprise within the framework of the implementation of the Concept of Rosseti’s Group of Companies “Digital Transformation 2030”.

Today, reconstruction of premises and construction and installation works are being carried out. In the future, the Grid Control Centre will be equipped with digital communication channels and modern information systems. This will make it possible to bring controllability of grid facilities to a qualitatively new level, significantly improve their observability, increase the efficiency of interaction with crews, reduce the time for elimination of emergency outages, and increase the comfort of life of the population and the socio-economic development of the Ryazan region. The launch of the Grid Control Centre, which has been upgraded based on digital technologies, is scheduled for this year.

During the working meeting, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy introduced the team to the new director Sergey Kotenev, who had previously headed JSC “Tula City Electric Grids”. The head of the energy companies also assessed the work of Ryazan power engineers in the pandemic, paid special attention to the need for timely and high-quality preparation for the heating period, as well as one hundred percent implementation of plans to reduce losses.

“Ryazanenergo has all the opportunities and potential to complete the first stage of digital transformation by the end of 2021: the Grid Control Centre, a digital Distribution Zone, and a digital substation will be created. The successful implementation of all the plans will allow us not only to maintain a faster pace, but even now to evaluate the positive effects of the implementation of digital technologies. Moreover, our main goal is to improve the quality of services for consumers: it is for them that we are implementing this program so that both industrial enterprises and each customer feel positive changes,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.
