25 May 2020

General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing director of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, Igor Makovskiy, and the founder of the city of Dobrograd, Vladimir Sedov, signed a cooperation agreement. This agreement will be the beginning of joint work to implement the best practices of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region in the city of Dobrograd in the Vladimir region.

Under the agreement, Rosseti Centre and Volga Region will work out in Dobrograd a reference model for activities of the electric grid organization responsible for all issues of power supply. Until 2025, power engineers in the city will create an electric grid infrastructure of a modern technological structure, with qualitatively new characteristics of reliability, manageability, efficiency and availability.

“For the company, this project, carried out to a greater extent by providing additional services, is very important and ambitious. Building a digital grid infrastructure with a higher level of reliability and quality is what we should strive for as part of the digital transformation concept. And for our consumers, this means improving the quality of life, well-being and comfort,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

In the city of Dobrograd, it is planned to build and operate outdoor street lighting networks and public spaces, architectural lighting of buildings and structures, “smart” pedestrian crossings. Due to the development of an electric charging infrastructure, the creation of a demonstration ground for the use of renewable energy sources and an electric energy storage system, the power engineers also plan to support the concept of an eco-city implemented in Dobrograd.

A large amount of work is planned to be carried out as part of the implementation of measures to introduce the technologies of the “smart city”. Including the creation of a comfortable and safe living environment using lighting technology, video surveillance, emergency alerts, electric charging infrastructure for personal, public transport and wearable gadgets.

“We and our colleagues from Rosseti have a great opportunity to jointly implement a project that no one has done before,” said the founder of the city of Dobrograd, Vladimir Sedov. “Now we are preparing for the arrival of small and medium-sized businesses in the city, so it is especially important for us to prepare the necessary infrastructure and, first of all, to provide access to electric grids. Another important area of activity for us will be work on improving the quality of life of inhabitants of our city. Thanks to the expertise of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region, we can here and now introduce technologies that will allow for the “smart” management of the city and the rational use of resources: natural, financial, human, while improving the quality of life. At the same time, we are primarily concerned with security issues, optimizing the costs of keeping and maintaining public spaces and private property of residents, as well as the development of transport links.”
