General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy had a working visit to the Tver region

25 December 2019

During a working visit to the Tver region, the head of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy discussed with the head of the Tver branch of Rosseti Centre Manvel Mazhonts strategic cooperation issues related to the implementation of tasks to improve the reliability of power supply to consumers in the Tver region, as well as prospects for development of electric grid facilities of the Upper Volga Region.

The readiness of the Tver branch of the company for the autumn-winter maximum loads was also assessed. Igor Makovskiy noted the timeliness of Tverenergo’s preparation for winter, which is confirmed by the status of readiness for the autumn-winter period received by the branch.

Summing up the results of the outgoing year, the head of Rosseti Centre praised the joint work of the subsidiaries of the electric grid company in eliminating the consequences of the abnormal impacts of the bad weather that twice affected the Tver region in the last decade of the year.

Igor Makovskiy led the restoration activities in the region and travelled to the areas affected by the hurricane. In total, more than 200 crews of power engineers of the energy company, including those sent from other branches, were involved in the restoration of power supply. Working around the clock for several days, despite the strong wind, snow and rain, the power engineers were able to return the light to the homes of the residents of the Upper Volga Region in extremely short periods for such extreme conditions.

Also, within the framework of the working meeting, the head of Rosseti Centre noted the importance of the exercises held this year in the service area of the Tver branch to fight against theft of electricity. As part of the measures taken, since the beginning of August, 506 facts of non-metered and 103 facts of non-contractual energy consumption totalling about 11 million kWh have been identified and suppressed.

“In the passing year, we did a tremendous job, we had to overcome many difficulties and more than once face the challenges of the natural elements. The adverse weather events became a real test of strength for us and the entire Tver region. We passed this peculiar test. Highly appreciating the work done, we do not stop there. We are faced with ambitious and difficult tasks for the qualitative transformation of the region’s electric grid infrastructure, the goal of which is to reach a new level of reliability of power supply to consumers,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, the head of the company.
