Igor Makovskiy: “We have to move to a qualitatively new level of formation of productive supply and location of losses”

27 November 2019

As part of the implementation of the Digital Transformation Concept, specialists of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization Rosseti Centre and Volga Region continue to develop the information-measuring control and energy metering system “Pyramid-Grid” in the Udmurt Republic. The main goal of the project is to provide digital metering of load of power centres of the electric grid complex of the region and to improve the automated information-measuring system of commercial electricity metering.

The “Pyramid-Grid” system is an innovative domestic software developed in accordance with the requirements and specifics of electric grid companies in Russia. Its essence is that the data collected from metering devices - these are meter readings at substations and from consumers - are transmitted to a data collection centre via the GSM/GPRS network or other available communication channels. Processing and storage of measurement results takes place in a single information and computer complex.

This software package allows constant monitoring of the quality of power supply and not only with high accuracy to record the volume of electricity consumption, but also in real time to monitor the load, power surges, other grid parameters, recording all deviations from the norm in the system memory. Objectivity and efficiency of the presented readings in the database is one of the main functions of the project. The developers of the software complex are sure that one hundred percent implementation of the system will help in resolving contentious issues between power engineers, consumers and sales companies.

High-precision equipment will allow the power engineers to optimize labour costs: operational staff will no longer need to take meter readings every month - the system automatically transfers this information to the data collection centre.

“At present, we are testing the advanced “Pyramid-Grid” software package, which excludes any unauthorized interference with the system, on the basis of “Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Udmurtenergo”. In the future, we will move on to its trial operation and only after that to production. A lot of work remains to be done, but the result is worth it - the accuracy and reliability of the calculations of the state of the power supply grids of the Udmurt Republic will increase significantly! Thanks to the implementation of this project, we have to move to a qualitatively new level of generating productive supply and location of losses,” emphasizes Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. “The software systems that we are implementing as part of the digital transformation allow us to eliminate errors, systematize and automate the operation of the electric grid complex, obtain reliable information about the operation of electric grids, and significantly improve the quality of the services provided.”
