28 October 2019

The head of Rosseti took personal control of the progress of the restoration work, which continued at night, despite the strong squally wind, as well as the difficult transport situation of certain districts as a result of many fallen trees. As of 2:30 am, power engineers restored power supply to more than 30 settlements in the Novgorod region. The work involved 36 crews of 142 people and 43 vehicles. In the Pskov region, the power supply of 4.1 thousand people in 49 settlements was also restored as soon as possible after a storm front had passed through the territory of the region. The work is ongoing.

In some districts, wind gusts reached 25 m/s. There are 78 crews consisting of 256 people and 96 specialized vehicles are on active duty in the Pskov branch. In the Tver region, wind gusts also reached 25 m/s. Currently, power supply has been restored to more than 100 settlements. 125 crews, 132 specialized vehicles, 425 personnel are involved in the work. Director General of Rosseti, Pavel Livinskiy, decided to attract the maximum amount of manpower to the emergency work in the Tver region. “Thanks to the exercises, held in the autumn of 2018 in the Tver branch of Rosseti Centre, of subsidiaries and affiliates of Rosseti’s Group on organizing cooperation during the elimination of mass violations at electric grid facilities, at the moment we have managed to avoid large-scale power failures. The situation caused by natural disasters is under control,” stressed Pavel Livinskiy, CEO of Rosseti. At present, the weather continues to deteriorate, which provokes new emergency power outages. The power engineers are increasing the grouping of forces and means.

Rosseti draws the attention of the population to the need for strict adherence to safety regulations in the vicinity of power plants and power lines. It is forbidden to approach ragged wires of power lines closer than 8 metres, to conduct independent work to restore power supply.
