2 September 2019

Specialists of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region* already since the first day of the new school year have been actively involved in the prevention of children’s electrical injuries in educational institutions. On the Knowledge Day, the power engineers conducted more than a hundred electrical safety events in schools in regions of their activity (20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation), in which thousands of children participated.

“We consider it fundamentally important from the very beginning of the new school year to set up the children for a serious, thoughtful attitude to electrical safety issues. We carry out this work in active cooperation with representatives of educational institutions, regional and local administrations, and relevant agencies. Practice shows the effectiveness of such an integrated approach,” stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.

Measures for the safe handling of electricity were held on 2 September in all 22 Distribution Zones of Belgorodenergo. Nizhnovenergo’s specialists conducted 18 electrical safety lessons; more than 700 schoolchildren participated in them. More than 350 children attended classes organized by their colleagues from Kostromaenergo. The Kostroma power engineers conducted part of the classes in the form of interactive games and quests.

The specialists of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region used sites for large-scale events and actions. Kurskenergo’s employees carried out informational work at school ceremonies in different districts of the Kursk region, in which a total of more than 2,500 schoolchildren participated. Their colleagues from the branches of Tulaenergo and Kalugaenergo organized electrical safety classes as part of the regional stages of the festival #TogetherBrighter. And representatives of Bryanskenergo equipped the “energy” site in the Central Park of Culture and Rest named after the 1,000th anniversary of the city of Bryansk, where the city-wide “Safety Day” was held on 2 September, dedicated to the Knowledge Day. The power engineers told the children about the rules of electrical safety, showed them how to provide first aid and handed thematic handouts - rulers and lesson schedules with the electrical safety rules painted on them.

A similar event will be held on 3 September by employees of the branch of Yarenergo as part of the citywide large-scale campaign “We Are the First to Help”, organized by the General Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Yaroslavl Region, the regional government, the Yaroslavl City Hall, and other agencies and organizations. It is expected that the action will be visited by more than a thousand Yaroslavl schoolchildren. And employees of the branch of Marienergo on 4 September, together with relevant agencies and structures of the regional executive authorities, will take part in the All-Russian open lesson on “Fundamentals of Life Safety”. The lesson will be held in Secondary school number 7 in Yoshkar-Ola, 300 schoolchildren will attend it.
