Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region* in the summer months continue in the regions of their activities (20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation) extensive work on prevention of children’s electrical injuries. One of its most important components is lessons of electrical safety, which are held in school and children’s health camps and kindergartens. Power engineers tell children about the role of electricity in a person’s life, introduce them to the rules for using electrical appliances, explain the meaning of warning signs, and teach first-aid techniques to the victim from effects of electric current.
Since the beginning of the summer, the specialists of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region have conducted about seven hundred classes on electrical safety, in which more than 20 thousand schoolchildren have taken part. The largest number of thematic lessons were organized by the branches of Bryanskenergo, Kostromaenergo, Nizhnovenergo and Kirovenergo.
“The culture of safe handling of electricity needs to be brought up from childhood, therefore, we are responsible for the prevention of children’s electrical injuries responsibly and systemically. I am glad that our efforts to educate the younger generation are supported by regional and local authorities, specialized agencies and the public. We closely and fruitfully cooperate with them in this direction, and we intend to further develop our cooperation, because the health and safety of children is a common cause,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
In a number of regions, the energy specialists timed events on the topic of electrical safety on the Children’s Day. There were also original themed campaigns. Employees of the branch “Lipetskenergo” on 9 June held a children’s holiday “Electricity is our friend” in the city park of Victory in Lipetsk. Employees of the branch “Udmurtenergo” together with the municipal libraries organized a five-day “Marathon of electrical safety and energy saving” in school camps. And their colleagues from the branch “Kostromaenergo”, together with the regional departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, the traffic police, the Federal National Guard Troops Service and other agencies, organized the interdepartmental route games on safety in country camps.
Until the end of the summer, the power engineers of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region plan to carry out more than five hundred measures to prevent electrical injuries of children and teenagers. Representatives of student crews that are on duty at the power companies’ facilities will have the most active participation in their organization.
