12 July, the Board of Directors of JSC Yantarenergo (since June 2019 it has been working under the Rosseti Yantar brand), repeatedly elected General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy as Chairman of the Board of Directors. The decision was taken unanimously. Igor Makovskiy has been elected to the Board of Directors of JSC Yantarenergo since 2012.
In 2012-2018, Igor Makovskiy worked as General Director of JSC Yantarenergo. Under his leadership, the stable financial, economic and technological development of the company was ensured. Yantarenergo is among the leaders in terms of reliability and quality of power supply to consumers in Rosseti’s group and has made significant progress in implementing the concept of digital transformation, within which reference energy systems are created in the territory of the Kaliningrad region that are ahead of the world’s best practices.
The company has already successfully implemented the first in Russia project “Digital Distribution Zone”, which made the western-most region of the country, in fact, a showcase of the Russian power grid complex. It is based on the most advanced technologies and basic structural elements of the digital grid. An automated information system of operational and technological management with the technology of big data and elements of artificial intelligence was implemented for the entire Kaliningrad region. The implementation of digital transformation measures allowed a record increase in observability, controllability and, accordingly, the efficiency of the region’s energy system.
In September 2018, Igor Makovskiy headed Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region. In the new responsible area of work, the management of Rosseti’s group entrusted him with replicating the successful experience gained in the Kaliningrad region across 20 regions of the country, and first and foremost - implementing the strategy for building an intelligent power grid complex. At the same time, he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Yantarenergo, continuing in the most active way to engage in strategic planning and coordinate the successful completion of all the projects started by the company. One of the significant results of the first months of work of Igor Makovskiy in the new status was the organization of an effective system of interaction of Kaliningrad power engineers and their colleagues from Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region in the field of learning and implementing the best practices and sharing positive developments in the field of digitalization.
On 24 September 2018, Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov presented Igor Makovskiy with the highest regional award, the Order of Merit for the Kaliningrad Region, for his great contribution to the development of the regional fuel and energy complex and high professionalism.
*- Since June 2019, all companies of the transmission and distribution grid complex in corporate and marketing communications, as well as on all corporate identity carriers have been using the new name containing the Rosseti trademark and regional or functional binding.
