“The number of winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad included many representatives of our regions. On the one hand, this is an indicator of quality career guidance. On the other - evidence of the great interest of the younger generation to energy. We intend to continue to exert maximum efforts to attract talented, active and promising young people to the industry,” stressed General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.

The winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will become participants in the energy project shift at the All-Russian Children’s Centre “Orlyonok”, which will be held in August. Together with the winners of the previous Olympiad and with the support of teachers from leading energy universities, industry experts from leading research centres and Rosseti, they will work on projects in the field of digital energy. In addition, they will be given the priority right to target training in partner universities in specialized areas of training.

The All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of Rosseti’s Group of Companies has been held since 2018 to identify gifted senior pupils who are capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking, planning their professional activities in the electric power industry, and involving them in the development of advanced infrastructure and technological projects relevant to the power grid complex of the Russian Federation. Students of 9 and 10 grades are traditionally invited to participate in it. The Olympiad is held in two stages. At the first stage, participants solve test tasks in physics, mathematics and computer science, aimed at checking the level of knowledge in the framework of secondary general education programs in the subjects. The second stage - in absentia, takes place in the format of case studies aimed at testing creative abilities and the capability to apply existing knowledge in the course of solving applied problems in the field of the electric power industry.

In 2019, the qualifying stage of the Olympiad was held in 69 cities. More than 5 thousand schoolchildren took part in it. About 1,500 of them represented the regions of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.
