IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region performs large-scale work on prevention of children’s electrical injuries. The company implements for children and teenagers in the regions of its operational responsibility (20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation) a set of informational and explanatory measures on electrical safety issues. On the eve of school holidays, during which children spend most of their time without adult control, it enhances this activity.
One of its main areas are lessons of electrical safety, which power engineers conduct in schools. They acquaint schoolchildren with the rules of behaviour near power facilities and handling electrical appliances in everyday life, explain to them the importance of warning signs and safety posters installed on electrical equipment, and demonstrate first aid methods to the victim from effects of electrical current. On the eve of the summer, specialists of IDGC of Centre - the management organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region organized more than seven hundred such classes, more than 19 thousand children became their participants.
“We pay the most serious attention to the prevention of children’s electrical injuries. It is precisely planned, explanatory work that will allow to protect the younger generation from danger. For us, as for the electric grid company, such initiatives have become traditional, and we consider it our mission to work in this direction. We try to involve the widest circle of interested persons - parents, teachers, representatives of relevant departments and organizations. I am sure that by combining our efforts, we will be able to achieve the maximum effect,” emphasized General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
In addition to the lessons in schools, the power engineers use other formats and platforms. For example, IDGC of Centre and Volga Region held a thematic holiday “Weekend with the Electropatrol team” in Nizhny Novgorod, gathering children, adolescents and their parents at the Crimea shopping and entertainment centre to participate in quizzes, contests and relay races on electrical safety. Employees of the branch “Kirovenergo” within the framework of the “Night of Museums” organized an action “Energy Night-2019” for residents of the city. Among the central events of the action were master classes, quests and quizzes on the prevention of electrical injuries. Employees of the branch “Ivenergo” took part in the regional summer meeting “Safe Summer” organized by the Education Department of the Ivanovo Region, where they told how to conduct conversations with children on electrical safety topics.
The power engineers will continue the preventive work in the summer months. In all regions of presence of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, thematic classes, master classes, contests and games in country and school children’s camps, public places will be held.
