Power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region took part in the work of Russia Health and Safety Week

30 April 2019

Representatives of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region took part in Russia Health and Safety Week (VSSOT). The international discussion and presentation platform was devoted to the latest trends and prospects for the development of activities in the field of occupational safety, ensuring safe working conditions and preserving the health of workers. The event was organized by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation and the Interregional Association for the Promotion of Safe Labour Conditions “ETALON”.

Within the framework of the All-Russian Health and Safety Week, scientific and practical conferences, panel discussions, round tables, departmental and corporate meetings, seminars and trainings were held. Topical issues such as the presentation of guarantees and compensations, social protection, insurance and pensions for workers, ways to reduce injuries and occupational diseases, and the assessment and improvement of working conditions were discussed in various formats. In addition, a variety of educational activities were conducted in areas related to labour protection, industrial, fire and environmental safety. Participants were given the opportunity to express their suggestions on specific topics and share work experience with colleagues from other regions.

Representatives of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region discussed with their colleagues the most pressing issues within the digital transformation strategy: the development of digital technologies for health diagnostics, the practice of implementing and operating the “Mobile Crews” software complex, the use of a virtual safety office for power industry enterprises. Special attention was paid to the practice of developing a safety culture and applying advanced working methods such as work under voltage.

Electric grid companies regularly carry out theoretical and practical (at training centres) training of personnel who have the right to perform high-risk work, including in electrical installations, at height, at clearing routes along overhead lines. Preventive and thematic events are held in all branches of the companies: Occupational Safety Days, Operators’ Days, and occupational safety reviews and competitions. Serious attention is paid to improving road safety. Seminars, competitions of professional skills among drivers, ten-day campaigns of road safety and various forms of drivers’ training are aimed at preventing injuries to personnel in the operation of vehicles.

“We must take into account the slightest nuances, bring the skills of safe work by personnel to automatism,” stressed General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy. “In technical and organizational terms, the company has created all conditions for preserving the life and health of employees. But a lot depends on the “human factor”. Therefore, it is necessary to continue to build an effective system of practical training of production personnel and an internal technical control system. Human life is the main value for our companies, so it is necessary to do everything possible to prevent accidents at work.”

In 2019, over 1,040 million rubles will be allocated to occupational safety and health measures at IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region.
