Governor of the Ivanovo Region Stanislav Voskresensky and General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy signed an agreement on development of the regional electric grid complex

23 April 2019

The agreement on strategic cooperation in the development of the electric grid complex of the Ivanovo region was signed during a bilateral working meeting held by the head of the region and the head of one of the country’s largest electric grid companies.

The document specifies the conditions for the implementation of regulated activities for the provision of services for electricity transmission. It provides for cooperation between the parties in the process of technical re-equipment and modernization of the regional electric grid complex using digital technologies and identifies prospects for consolidating electric grids on the basis of the branch “Ivenergo”, which will create conditions for improving the quality and reliability of electric power supply in the Ivanovo region and connection to electric grids of new customers.

Also, during the bilateral meeting, General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region demonstrated to Governor of the Ivanovo Region the work of the Grid Control Centre (GCC) of the branch “Ivenergo”. The main task of the GCC is the implementation of centralized control of operating modes of 35-110 kV electric grids of Ivenergo, which ensures maximum reliability and efficiency of the regional grid complex.

Igor Makovskiy told Stanislav Voskresensky about the implementation of the digital transformation concept in the electric grid complex of the Ivanovo region. Using the example of previously implemented projects of digitalization of JSC “Yantarenergo” under his leadership in the Kaliningrad region, he acquainted Governor with the effects that will be obtained as a result of the introduction of digital technologies. In particular, the head of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region elaborated on the project of the Unified Grid Control Centre (UGCC) of the branch “Ivenergo”, where the most modern digital technologies will be used. Currently, a “road map” has been developed for its creation. At the same time, there will be 12 dispatchers in the dispatching service of the UGCC, who will be able to control the operation of the entire 0.4-110 kV electric grid in the region. Also, in the nearest plans of the company there is optimization of the system of operational and technological management of Ivenergo’s grid complex. During the meeting, taking into account the wishes of the head of the region, it was agreed that all these works will begin in the near future and will be completed in 2021.

Stanislav Voskresensky and Igor Makovskiy agreed to create the Contact Centre and the Customer Service Centre in the city of Ivanovo by the end of this year, which, in addition, will create more than 200 new jobs in the regional centre. In the Contact Centre, online information on the status of the electric grid complex in 9 regions of the country will be generated, processed and sent to the UGCC. As noted by Igor Makovskiy, the main effect from the implementation of all these measures will be the reduction of failures in the grids and increase in the speed of response to technological violations. Another important result of the meeting was an agreement to restart the procedure of connection of customers of the Ivanovo region to the electric grids of Ivenergo in order to increase its transparency and efficiency.

In turn, Governor of the Ivanovo Region proposed to use more actively in the course of implementing the concept of digital transformation the practices of young scientists from one of the leading industrial universities in the country - Ivanovo State Power Engineering University (ISPU). As Stanislav Voskresensky emphasized, ISPU has long and fruitfully cooperated with IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Volga Region, its scientists are immersed in the specifics of the company’s activities, thanks to which the technologies and solutions they offer are maximally adapted to its needs.

“We intend to develop and strengthen interaction. I am sure that our partnership will be long-term and will benefit the development of the Ivanovo region,” stressed Stanislav Voskresensky.

“The priority task of the company in the Ivanovo region is to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to customers and to create conditions for the advanced construction and development of the power grid infrastructure, which will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of the region’s investment attractiveness. We will make every effort for this,” emphasized the head of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
