The bilateral meeting of the Head of the Republic of Mari El Alexander Evstifeev and General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy began at the “Arena Mari El” sports complex, where Transformer Substation 555 “Manege” is located, which is one of the elements of the smart grid of the left-bank part of the city of Yoshkar-Ola. The head of the company showed to the Head of the region the project of digitalization of the energy complex implemented in the republic within the framework of the concept “Digital Transformation - 2030”.
Today, an intelligent electrical grid with telecontrol and automation elements from 9 transformer substations and 2 distribution points on the Left Bank, which feeds the social infrastructure: education, sports, and culture - has been created and successfully operates in Mari El. Among them there are such large facilities as the manege "Arena Mari El", the National Presidential Boarding School, the Puppet Theatre, the Ice Palace of the Mari El, the water palaces of Yoshkar-Ola and the Mari El, administrative buildings of ministries and departments. Modern transformer substations supplying the embankment are equipped with automated systems for monitoring and metering electricity consumption on each outgoing line using PLS modems for retrieving data from remote subscriber meters. For efficient operation, remote telecontrol of switches is brought to the dispatch centre of Semenovsky Distribution Zone using modern digital process control systems with optical fiber communication channels using the modern IEC-104 protocol, which allows the dispatcher not only to control, collect and process technical information from his workplace, but also to manage power equipment, to make the necessary switching, redistribute the load.
The Head of the region highly appreciated the technical equipment of the grid infrastructure. “The facilities are technically advanced and call for respect for the power engineers, who carried out a large-scale work on their design into a single complex,” Alexander Evstifeev noted, “we welcome your company, we welcome that all work is done without serious failures. I am ready to discuss issues of further cooperation, so that the work will continue to improve.”
“Two distribution points and nine substations for three years did not have any disconnection of consumers, reduced operating costs by more than 30%. We intend to develop and modernize the energy system of the branch “Marienergo” precisely according to the modern principle, which will be directed, first of all, to the benefit of consumers - residents of the republic,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.
The meeting participants inspected the exhibition of special equipment of the branch “Marienergo”, familiarized themselves with the functionality of the command and staff vehicles and the operation of the unmanned aerial vehicle used for engineering inspections of overhead lines in order to quickly detect and identify possible technological violations and eliminate their consequences.
During the meeting of the Head of the region and General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region in the Government, the parties discussed the possibility of signing the Agreement on Cooperation. Also, during the meeting, issues of tariff regulation and prospects for the consolidation of the regional electric grids on the basis of the branch “Marienergo” were considered, which will create conditions for the further development of the electric grid complex of the Republic of Mari El and connection to electric grids of new customers.
