IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region launched the II stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of PJSC ROSSETI

On 6 April, the energy companies of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region awarded the winners and prize-winners of the first qualifying round of the All-Russian Olympiad of PJSC ROSSETI. The Olympiad of schoolchildren is held to identify gifted high school students, capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking. During the awards ceremony, participants were also given assignments for the second final stage of the intellectual competition.

“The quality of performing the most difficult tasks at the Olympiad showed a high level of training of the participants. The Russian energy industry is waiting for a new generation of intellectual engineers, we will be glad to see you in our ranks!” stressed Acting First Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Vitaly Akulichev in his congratulatory speech. He congratulated the guys on going to the second stage and wished them good luck in their assignments for the next tour.

In the first stage of the Olympiad, which was held from 2 March to 30 March 2019, 1,406 schoolchildren of the 9th and 10th grades from 323 schools from 20 regions of operating responsibility of the energy companies took part. The winners and prize-winners of the first stage of the Olympiad were determined by the regional jury on the amount of points received by each participant for completing tasks in three subjects: physics, mathematics and computer science. As a result, 27 people won the Olympiad at IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, and 28 students became the first-place winners.

All the guys got the opportunity to participate in the second and final stage of the Olympiad, which will be held in absentia by completing complex tasks (cases) aimed at testing creative abilities and the ability to apply existing knowledge in relevant subjects when solving applied problems in the electric power industry.

According to the results of the second stage, the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will be determined who can become participants in the Energy Project Shift of PJSC ROSSETI at the site of one of the All-Russian children’s health centres. The energy project shift is organized for schoolchildren who have shown the best results at the All-Russian School Olympiad of PJSC ROSSETI and the All-Russian Forum of Young Scientists “Step into the Future”, as well as those who have received appropriate certificates of students of the “Energy Technology” section of the final events of the All-Russian Vocational Guidance Forum “ProjeCTOriYA”.
