IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region expands the use of advanced innovative technologies for electricity storage

General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy held a meeting on the prospects for expanding the use of advanced innovative power storage systems in the Company’s electric grid complex (it operates in 20 regions of the Russian Federation). The event was attended by technical managers and specialists of the Company, as well as manufacturers of power storage systems.

The meeting participants discussed the experience of implementing new generation energy storage systems at energy and transport facilities and the possibility of using them at facilities of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. In particular, it was noted that the potential use of energy storage systems in the electric power industry is quite high, but it is still far from being fully utilized. Following the event, Igor Makovskiy set the task to form a working group that will adapt these innovative technologies to the criteria of the Company’s technical policy.

“Modern innovative energy storage systems have unique physical and chemical characteristics. They are environmentally friendly, allow to accumulate and with a high speed to give significant amounts of electricity. Their use will allow us to significantly improve the efficiency of solving the task of ensuring the reliability and quality of electricity supply in 20 regions of the country,” stressed the head of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region.
