In 2019 IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region to spend more than 90 million rubles on environmental protection measures

IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region continues implementing a set of measures to improve environmental safety and rational use of natural resources. In 2019, it is planned to allocate 92.3 million rubles for these purposes.

The company pays great attention to environmental safety issues. In accordance with the “Program for Ensuring Environmental Safety for 2019-2023”, in 2019, about 50 environmental protection measures will be taken in the regions of the service area of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (operating in 20 regions of the Russian Federation.

Work is planned in several areas: atmospheric air protection - instrumental monitoring of the efficiency of gas cleaning installations and monitoring compliance with standards for maximum permissible emissions; protection and rational use of water resources - instrumental control of the quality of produced groundwater and wastewater discharged into urban municipal sewage systems; protection and rational use of land - equipment of sites for accumulation of waste.

The priority of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga region is also the implementation of technical measures that allow not only to increase the reliability and safety of power supply, reduce failure rates during operation, but also to reduce the negative impact on the environment. It is planned to repair oil receivers at substations, measures to replace oil switches with vacuum ones, and also to replace oil-filled high-voltage bushings with ones with solid insulation.

One of the key directions of the environmental policy of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region is the protection of wildlife resources in the implementation of production activities. Among the most effective ways to protect birds from exposure to electric current, experts call for the use of self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) and special bird protective devices. In 2019, about 11,200 bird protective devices will be installed in the Company’s service area, which will allow securing birds and reducing the risk of emergency outages with their use on overhead lines. First of all, bird protective devices are installed on lines passing through territories of reserves and wildlife sanctuaries. In addition, it is planned to replace 4 thousand km of uninsulated wire with self-supporting insulated one, which makes it possible to eliminate the death of birds and reduce the cutting area of ​​routes.

Please, be reminded that IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region implemented and developed an environmental management system that complies with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001, considerable attention is paid to the protection of water, land resources and atmospheric air, objects of the animal world. No less important areas of activity are conducting industrial environmental monitoring and environmental auditing.
