On 2 and 3 March, in the regions of the service area of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (it operates in the Central and Volga Federal Districts, is included in ROSSETI’s Group of Companies), as well as in other regions of the Russian Federation, the regional stage of the II All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of ROSSETI’s Group of Companies passed. It was organized by the Company’s branches with the support of relevant departments and committees of the regional executive authorities, as well as leading educational institutions of the regions.
These educational institutions became the sites for the first stage of the Olympiad. Thus, in the Lipetsk region, the energy company conducted it on the basis of the Lipetsk State Technical University, in the Belgorod region - on the basis of the Belgorod Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov, in the Kursk region - on the basis of the South-West State University. In the Kostroma region, the Olympiad participants were received by the Kostroma Energy Technical School named after F.V. Chizhov. In the Kirov region - Kirov regional state educational autonomous institution "Kirov Physics and Mathematics Lyceum", and in the Vladimir region - the Vladimir State University.
About a thousand students in grades 9-10 took part in the Olympics in the regions where IDGC of Centre operates, more than a year earlier. In the Yaroslavl and Kursk regions, their number increased by 2.5 times, in the Belgorod region - by two times. In the regions of the service area of IDGC of Centre and Volga, more than 500 students took part in the intellectual competition. The largest number of participants this year was recorded in the Udmurt branch of the company (115 people). For two days, the guys were solving test tasks in physics, mathematics and computer science, aimed at checking the level of knowledge in the framework of secondary general education programs in the subjects.
Now their work will be evaluated by the regional jury, which included representatives of relevant regional committees and departments of education, universities and colleges, as well as the branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region. The participants of the first stage, who have scored the highest number of points, will be able to take part in the second and final stage of the Olympiad of schoolchildren “Hope of Energy”, organized by the Moscow, Ivanovo, Kazan Energy and Siberian Federal Universities. It will be held in absentia. The finalists will receive case studies with tasks aimed at checking the creative abilities and ability to apply existing knowledge in the course of solving applied problems in the field of the electric power industry.
According to the results of the second stage, the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will be determined who can become participants in the Energy Project Shift of PJSC ROSSETI at the site of one of the All-Russian children’s health centres. The energy project shift is organized for schoolchildren who have shown the best results at the All-Russian School Olympiad of PJSC ROSSETI and the All-Russian Forum of Young Scientists “Step into the Future”, as well as those who have received appropriate certificates of students of the “Energy Technology” section of the final events of the All-Russian Vocational Guidance Forum “ProjeCTOriYA”.
The shift participants will be able to undergo training in the systems engineering based on the agile approach, investment project development, gain the necessary knowledge of architecture, technology and economics of digital electrical grids, improve technical design skills, and become familiar with the operation of the power grid complex. According to the results of the project shift, the teams will present the current prototypes of the design solutions - calculations, models, software products. Results of the work on winning projects are presented in the framework of innovative projects competitions, including the All-Russian competition in the field of high-tech innovative projects and developments “Energy Breakthrough”, the All-Russian Vocational Guidance Forum “ProjeCTOriYA”.
