Igor Makovskiy: Russian Energy Week is a unique opportunity to share experience in the implementation of advanced technologies and solutions, including digital transformation

5 March 2019

The International Forum “Russian Energy Week” will be held in Moscow at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall from 2 to 5 October 2019. The purpose of the Forum, organized by the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the Government of Moscow, is to discuss the current global energy agenda, identify key areas for development of the fuel and energy sectors, and search for optimal solutions in response to existing challenges.

The business program of the Forum will traditionally be attended by heads of energy departments of foreign countries, heads of major international and Russian energy companies, the leadership of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, leading international experts and organizations.

IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (included in ROSSETI’s Group of Companies) will present at the Forum the current results of digital transformation of the electric grid complex of the companies, which will be implemented in three stages. The first stage, which will last until 2021, involves the implementation of existing technologies, partial digitalization of production processes, piloting of promising technologies and mobile solutions. Its key project will be the creation of unified grid control centres (UGCCs) on the basis of all 20 branches. Also, within the framework of the first stage, 100 percent of territories of the branches will be covered by digital radio. One hundred percent observability of 35-110 kV substations will be provided, 17 pilot projects of “Digital Distribution Zone” will be implemented. In 31 Distribution Zones, comprehensive automation of the 6-10 kV grid will be carried out, and an integrated energy monitoring system will be implemented. By the end of this year, digital substations will appear in the Belgorod and Voronezh regions.

“The Russian Energy Week is a unique opportunity to share experience in the implementation of advanced technologies and solutions, including digital transformation. Already now, IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are actively digitizing the power grid complex. I hope that our experience will be useful to colleagues,” stressed General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy.
