Igor Makovskiy: “By attracting the younger generation to solving actual problems of the electric power industry, we are shaping a trend to attract educated, talented, enterprising young personnel to the industry”

1 March 2019

At the beginning of March, in all regions of operations of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (included in ROSSETI’s Group of Companies) the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of pupils of ROSSETI will be held. The power company holds the Olympics for the second time and seeks to identify gifted senior high school students, capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking.

Participation in the Olympiad is one of the stages of selection and training of professional staff to implement the strategy of digitalization of the electric grid complex until 2030, a unique opportunity to test yourself and get acquainted with current problems and areas of energy development, solving unusual and interesting problems.

In the first stage, which will take place in the first spring weekend, high school students will solve test tasks in physics, mathematics and computer science, aimed at checking the level of knowledge in the framework of secondary general education programs in the subjects.

The second stage will be held in absentia. All eligible participants, i.e. those who have scored the most points on the results of the first stage will receive cases with tasks aimed at testing their creative abilities and ability to apply existing knowledge in the course of solving applied problems in the field of the electric power industry.

Winners and prize-winners of the first stage of the Olympiad will be able to take part in the final stage of the Olympiad of schoolchildren “Hope of Energy”, organized by the Moscow, Ivanovo, Kazan Power Engineering and Siberian Federal Universities.

After the second stage, the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will be determined who can become participants in the Energy Project Shift of PJSC ROSSETI at the site of one of the All-Russian children’s health centres. The energy project shift is organized for schoolchildren who have shown the best results at the All-Russian School Olympiad of PJSC ROSSETI and the All-Russian Forum of Young Scientists “Step into the Future”, as well as those who have received appropriate certificates of students of the “Energy Technology” section of the final events of the All-Russian Vocational Guidance Forum “ProjeCTOriYA”.

The shift participants will be able to undergo training in the systems engineering based on the agile approach, investment project development, gain the necessary knowledge of architecture, technology and economics of digital electrical grids, improve technical design skills, and become familiar with the operation of the power grid complex. According to the results of the project team shift, the current prototypes of the design solutions are presented - calculations, models, software products.

Results of the work on winning projects are presented in the framework of innovative projects competitions, including the All-Russian competition in the field of high-tech innovative projects and developments “Energy Breakthrough”, the All-Russian Forum Vocational Guidance Forum “ProjeCTOriYA”.
