IDGC of Centre in 2018 saved more than 50 million kilowatt-hours of electricity

IDGC of Centre summed up the implementation of the energy saving and energy efficiency program in 2018. The total effect of the program was 51 million kWh with the planned figures of 35 million kWh.

The largest amount of savings - 23.4 million kWh - was obtained from the implementation of organizational measures, including switching off transformers at low loads at substations with two or more transformers, turning off transformers with seasonal load, and levelling loads of phases in distribution 0.38 kV grids.

14.1 million kWh were saved thanks to technical measures: replacing wires with a larger cross section on overloaded power lines and replacing wire of taps of overhead line in residential buildings with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW).

The effect of 12.4 million kWh was given by the Program for long-term development of electricity metering systems.

In addition, the company reduced by 0.317 million kWh of electricity consumption for utility needs, including by replacing incandescent bulbs with energy-saving LEDs. A total of 14.6 thousand lighting fixtures and lamps were replaced in 2018, the effect of this work amounted to 301 thousand kWh.

The funds saved as a result of the implementation of the energy saving program are used by IDGC of Centre, among other things, to solve the main production tasks, the development of the electric grid infrastructure of the regions of its service area.
