Head of Udmurtia Alexander Brechalov and General Director of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region Igor Makovskiy held a working meeting

12 January 2019

The parties discussed issues of ensuring reliable power supply to consumers of the Udmurt Republic, consolidation of grid assets, and prospects for the development of the regional economy.

As Igor Makovskiy noted, in 2018 IDGC of Centre and Volga Region invested more than 770 million rubles in the development of the regional power grid complex.

“The power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region successfully passed the tests of the New Year holidays and proved their readiness to resolve issues of any complexity,” noted the head of the company. “One of the key tasks for the near future for us is the fulfillment of the task set by the country’s leadership on the digital transformation of the electric grid complex. Large-scale work is planned in Udmurtia. In particular, in 2019, the implementation of the projects “Digital Distribution Zone” on the site of Zavyalovsky Distribution Zone and “Digital Substation” on the site of the Substation “Airport”, which is also located in Zavyalovsky district of the republic, will continue.

In addition, during the meeting, Alexander Brechalov and Igor Makovskiy gave a positive assessment of the consolidation of the regional power grid, noted the importance of preserving the team of Izhevsk Electric Grids and the staff’s social guarantees.

“Consolidation of grid resources, which ROSSETI’s Group of Companies is engaged on behalf of the President of Russia, allows to reach fundamentally new indicators of the quality and reliability of the energy resources supplied. From 1 January 2019, IDGC of Centre and Volga Region began the operational and technological management of the property complex of Izhevsk Electric Grids. Today it is one of the largest deals,” stressed Igor Makovskiy. “IDGC of Centre and Volga Region has completely fulfilled all of its obligations - both in financing and in social guarantees for the labour team.”

Another theme for joint work is the project “Light Country”. Within the framework of this program, power engineers guarantee to provide not only uninterrupted power supply, but also lighting of streets of cities and regional centres of the republic with new street lighting fixtures and decorative lighting.

“Izhevsk today remains one of the most under-lit cities. We hope that by implementing the draft concession agreement, we will be able to raise the lighting of the city streets to a qualitatively new level. We plan to make the capital of Udmurtia brighter by the Day of the City - in Izhevsk it is celebrated on 12 June,” stated Igor Makovskiy. “I am sure the city will be transformed - brightly lit streets, decorative lighting of buildings and structures. Residents and guests of Izhevsk will see a completely different city - bright and memorable!”
“We hope that our effective cooperation with IDGC of Centre and Volga Region will become long-term, lay the foundation for creating a single centre of responsibility in the regional power grid management system and will make the country more attractive to potential investors,” the head of the region emphasized.
