19 October 2018

On 19 October, a working meeting of the head of the region Anatoly Artamonov with General Director of IDGC of Centre Igor Makovskiy was held in Kaluga.

They discussed issues of development of the electric power industry in the region.

It was noted that between the Kaluga region and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region (managed by IDGC of Centre), there were constructive relationships that allow implementing projects of various levels.

During the meeting, Anatoly Artamonov approved the initiative for signing the long-term tariff agreement between the Administration of the Kaluga region and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, which will ensure the return on measures for development of the power grid infrastructure in the region, which will be carried out on a digital basis. The agreement is planned to be concluded for a period of 10 years.

The parties also discussed the implementation of the project for the construction of the 220/110/10 kV substation “Constellation”. Currently commissioning works are being carried out at the power facility. Igor Makovskiy, who visited the substation the day before, assured the head of the region that all work at the power facility was going on in strict accordance with the schedule. At the end of the year, the substation will be fully commissioned. The substation “Constellation”, which has a single socio-economic importance, will improve the reliability of the northern power node of the Kaluga region, as well as expand the possibilities for connection to the power grid of new customers. First of all, these are residents of one of the largest technology parks in the region - “Vorsino”.

During the meeting, the head of IDGC of Centre also presented to Governor of the Kaluga region the concept for implementing digital technologies and control systems for the electric grid complex of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, which are based on the experience of “Yantarenergo” on the implementation of the project “Digital Distribution Zone”. The project implementation allowed to ensure observability and controllability of the electric grid complex, to reduce electric energy losses and, as a result, to significantly increase the reliability and quality of electricity supply to customers. Now this experience will be spread on branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region.

“Kalugaenergo has accumulated experience and grid digitalization functions. This concerns the implementation of remote control systems at large feeding centres, active work is underway to implement smart metering of electricity and complex automation projects for distribution grids of 6-10 kV with possibility of automatic location of faulty sections of power lines and customers’ reservation. Digitalization of the power grid complex of the Kaluga region will continue as part of the implementation of the digital technologies of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region,” stressed Igor Makovskiy.

During the discussion of the consolidation of power grid assets, Anatoly Artamonov noted that this process has a positive effect on the reliability of the power supply to customers in the region, and work in this direction will continue.

At the end of the meeting, the parties will expressed readiness for long-term cooperation, development of favourable conditions for further socio-economic development of the Kaluga region, improvement of the investment climate in the region, business development, ensuring comfort and convenience for residents of the region.
