During the exercises in the Tver region, additional areas of ROWs of overhead power lines to be cleared

15 October 2018

This was stated by General Director of IDGC of Centre Igor Makovskiy during the meeting of the Headquarters of IDGC of Centre - the managing organization of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, which took place in Ostashkovsky Distribution Zone. The head of the company instructed the staff in the coming days to concentrate on clearing most of the emergency sections of the ROWs of the overhead lines where wood sprouting threatens the operation of the power grid complex.

“We will carry out additional volumes for clearing ROWs along overhead lines,” stressed the head of the company. “Now, relying on wishes of heads of municipalities, we are talking about 2.5 thousand hectares, additional to the planned 6.5 thousand hectares. The main task is to remove the maximum possible number of trees threatening the reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers. This is the most important in the current autumn-winter period.”

During the meeting of the Headquarters, which was held in the mode of videoconference communication, the participants - heads of technical services of IDGC of Centre and Distribution Zones of Tverenergo - discussed other practical activities implemented during the exercises. It is known that the volume of expansion of the ROWs of the main grid of overhead lines will be increased in the Tver region to 100%. In this regard, the management of IDGC Centre has allocated additional forces and funds for check of ROWs of 35-110 kV overhead lines. 20 October, when the check is summed up, the expansion exercise plan will be adjusted to reflect the need for additional measures. To date, according to operational information of the Headquarters, 403 hectares or 234.32 km of ROWs have been expanded throughout the territory of the Tver region.

Logging and contracting companies expand the ROWs, who, according to the exercise plan, began to perform assignments a week ago. “I ask you to achieve maximum synchronization, as in the provision of operational information, and in practical work,” appealed to representatives of contracting organizations Igor Makovskiy. “We have limited time and we must effectively use this time to improve the reliability of power supply to consumers.”

As part of the grid reconstruction task, to date, 47 kilometres of bare wire have been replaced for self-supporting insulated one, 2,190 poles of overhead lines have been installed. Renovation work is being carried out in Kalininsky, Andreapolsky, Zapadnodvinsky, Zubtsovsky, Maksatikhinsky, Ostashkovsky, Penovsky, Toropetsky districts of the Tver region. Until 22 December, a total of 540 km of wire and more than 9 thousand power line poles will be replaced.
