IDGC of Centre launched a new high-tech substation in the Belgorod region

8 October 2018

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division constructed and put into operation in Valuisky district of the Belgorod region the high-voltage substation 110/10 kV “Vatutinskaya”. The new feeding centre is intended for power supply of industrial and household consumers of Valuisky urban district. The volume of investment in the project amounted to about 297.3 million rubles.

The new substation is named after the native of Valuisky district, an outstanding commander of the Great Patriotic War, Army General, Hero of the Soviet Union, Nikolay Vatutin. The power facility with an installed capacity of 12.6 MVA was designed taking into account the use of modern automated systems for dispatch control, control and metering of electricity. By equipment, it is one of the most modern in the region.

All equipment of the substation “Vatutinskaya” is protected from overvoltage and has microprocessor high-speed relay protection and emergency control systems, which in real-time monitor the performance of the power centre and instantly respond to abnormal situations. Collection of technological information about parameters of the equipment and its transfer to the Grid Control Centre of Belgorodenergo is provided by software and hardware. Transmission of telemetry information online is set up on the basis of digital data transmission systems through two independent mutually redundant communication channels.

Operational management of the substation is carried out remotely from the Grid Control Centre of Belgorodenergo without involvement of additional personnel. This can significantly reduce the time of switching, equipment disconnection for repair and emergency response elimination.

After commissioning, the total power consumption of the substation “Vatutinskaya” has already exceeded 5 MW.
