IDGC of Centre completed the reconstruction of the 110/35/10 substation "Vyazma-1", located in the city of Vyazma of the Smolensk region, thereby increasing the reliability of power supply to consumers in Vyazemsky district.
"The substation, which provides electricity to the eastern part of the region, including large industrial enterprises, had consistent work on increasing the capacity and upgrading its equipment. As a result, in addition to a general increase in the reliability of power supply, conditions were created for connection of new customers to the grid of the branch," stressed Oleg Shirokov, deputy director for capital construction of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division.
Currently, IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division has concluded about 250 contracts for grid connection with the feeding centre of the substation "Vyazma-1" with a total capacity of 10.291 MW.
In the course of the project implementation, the existing 35 kV and 110 kV surge arresters were replaced with 35 kV and 110 kV overvoltage limiters, and the 110 kV oil circuit breakers were replaced with gas-insulated ones. The busbars were also replaced, the relay protection of power transformers and 10 kV bushings was upgraded. At the final stage, two power transformers were replaced with an increase in power from 40 MVA to 63 MVA.
In addition, in 2018, work was performed on the automation of overhead line 1011 "Substation Vyazma-1" with installation of reclosers, which will automatically isolate faulty sections of the grid and increase the reliability of power supply to consumers fed by this line.
This facility was implemented in the framework of the investment program of IDGC of Centre, approved by Order of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation No. 1386 dated December 22, 2016, considered by the Administration of the Smolensk Region. The facility is included in the Program for Development of the Electric Power Industry of the Smolensk Region for 2017-2021.
The implementation of the investment program of IDGC of Centre adds to the further improvement of the quality and reliability of electricity supply to consumers of 11 subjects of the Central Federal District, and to a large extent contributes to the socio-economic development of these regions.
