Power engineers restore electricity supply in the 0.4 kV network under consumers’ requests

27 September 2018

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre continue to restore power supply in the 0.4 network. This work is carried out at the request of consumers, who refer to the direct line of the company at 8-800-50-50-115 (the call is toll-free).

Despite the fact that the bulk of the emergency recovery work has been completed, the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre maintains a special operating mode in connection with the forecast deterioration of weather conditions.

Power engineers control the situation and are ready to react quickly to possible violations in the power grid complex. In case of need, additional forces from the number of employees of other branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, located at the exercises in the Tver region, will be attracted to emergency recovery work.

The power engineers of IDGC of Centre refer to residents of the Tver region with a request to observe safety rules. A squally wind can cause a break in wires. Please, be careful: if you find a broken wire, do not approach it closer than 8-10 metres, and report a dangerous find to your Distribution Zone.

In addition, the experts also draw attention of inhabitants of the region to the rules of using alternative light sources at power outages.

Before using an emergency generator in the event of a power outage, you must know the power consumption and proper procedures for operating electrical appliances in your home.

Generators must be used only in accordance with the operation manual.

A backup generator can be connected to the electrical system of your home only through protection panels and an LV switch, which must be installed by a qualified electrician.

Never connect the generator to an electrical outlet.

The generator must be connected to the internal network of the house only when the switching device that supplies voltage from the external network is disconnected.

The switching device through which the generator is connected must mutually exclude the possibility of simultaneous connection of power lines of the external network and the generator - it can be a changeover switch and two mutually exclusive positions or a switch to two positions from an external network or from a generator. Failure to comply with this requirement can result in serious injury, when the current generated by the generator is fed back through the electrical lines and is transformed into a higher voltage, as well as endanger the lives of workers who are restoring power supply.
