Power engineers of IDGC of Centre develop cooperation skills for elimination of consequences of failures at power grid facilities

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre within the framework of preparation for the season of peak loads take part in large-scale exercises to eliminate consequences of failures at power grid facilities caused by unfavourable weather phenomena in low-temperature conditions. The exercises take place in each region that is part of the company’s service area.

The main goal of the events is to develop practical skills of rapid response to elimination of damage to power equipment, organization of temporary power supply schemes for socially significant facilities with the use of backup power supplies, and improvement of interaction between power engineers and regional executive authorities, local governments, specialists of the EMERCOM of Russia, branches of SO UES, branches of FGC UES and contractors.

Scenarios of the exercises were developed taking into account the analysis of contingency situations of the past, typical for the regions, monitoring and forecasting the development of a possible unfavourable situation and other initial data.

According to First Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre Alexander Pilyugin: "During the exercise, we work out in practice the readiness of all services responsible for restoring power supply to consumers in the service area of IDGC of Centre. The maximum effect from activities is achieved through the competent organization of the exercises, their conduct, as well as from a constructive analysis of the results. At present, all our work is aimed at improving the system of emergency preparedness for the upcoming autumn-winter period."
