IDGC of Centre summed up the implementation of the Environmental Policy Program in the 1st quarter of 2018. In 2018, the company performs about 400 environmental measures in its regions of operation (11 subjects of the Central Federal District), more than 49 million rubles are planned to be allocated for this purpose.
The Program pays much attention to ensuring a balanced development of the electric power industry. In this direction, in particular, technical measures for replacement of oil circuit breakers with vacuum and gas-insulated ones, which, unlike oil-filled equipment, are fire safe, have excessive performance, durability, higher technical parameters.
Bare wire is replaced with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) at power grid facilities of IDGC of Centre. This measure allows to reduce the area of cutting ROWs (it is done to prevent failures associated with falling trees on power lines), as well as protect birds against the impact of electric current. For this purpose, 1,099 pieces of special bird protection devices were also purchased in the 1st quarter, which are installed on power line poles.
Work continued on the control of the content of pollutants at stationary sources and in sanitary protection zones of production sites, improvement and greening of premises of enterprises. To protect and rationally use resources specialists of IDGC of Centre’s branches regularly perform instrumental quality control of produced underground and waste water.
Arrangement of sites for accumulation of production and consumption wastes is one of the important areas of environmental protection of IDGC of Centre. In the 1st quarter of 2018, 19 demercurization kits were purchased to equip storage sites for mercury-containing lamps.
In January-March, 15 managers and specialists of IDGC of Centre, responsible for environmental protection, were trained in environmental safety programs, including in the field of handling hazardous waste.
The implementation of environmental policy is one of the priority activities of IDGC of Centre. Ensuring the reliability of environmental safety of production activities, striving to rationally use natural energy resources, the company contributes to improving the overall state of environmental safety in the country.
