Contact centres of energy companies receive round-the-clock calls and for reception and processing of all incoming telephone calls the call-centre system provides for creation of a call queue. When we receive a call to the contact centre, when all operators are talking to other customers, the system puts the call on hold. As it is released, the operator receives the next customer’s call. In this case, you have to wait a few minutes. The average waiting time for an operator’s response on normal days without a massive power outage is up to 2 minutes, at peak times the waiting time increases. Thus, it is more expedient to dial the number once, wait for your turn and the operator’s answer, than to call back several times or report on the outage on the link.
