IDGC of Centre organized in the Kostroma region an interdepartmental roundtable on prevention of electric injuries

A round table was held at IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division, dedicated to prevention of cases of third-party injuries at power grid facilities. It was attended by representatives of the EMERCOM of Russia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kostroma region, the Rostekhnadzor, the All-Russian Voluntary Fire Society, the regional department of education and science of the region.

Power engineers introduced the participants to the experience in the field of electrical safety. So, for 2017 employees of the Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre held more than 500 thematic classes in schools of the region, of which almost 11,000 children became participants. In the summer months, the power engineers together with rescuers, firefighters, traffic police and employees of the State Inspection of Small Vessels conducted route games in school and country camps for children’s recreation. The main part of the activities was carried out within the framework of agreements on consolidation of efforts to implement measures for the prevention of electric injuries among children and adolescents concluded by Kostromaenergo with the city and regional education departments, regional departments of the EMERCOM of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

In addition, the power engineers distributed information materials in the region. Hundreds of copies of the children’s book on electrical safety "Energolandia", published with the support of IDGC of Centre, thematic schedules of lessons, disks with materials on the prevention of children’s electric injuries were sent to educational institutions and social security institutions.

The participants of the round table discussed the issues of expanding cooperation in the field of preventing children’s electric injuries. In particular, it was decided to jointly develop and issue safety memos, hold a city thematic action in May and provide a quarterly issue of the newspaper on safety "Star of Hope".

Another result of the work of the round table was an agreement on the conduct by Kostromaenergo’s specialists of additional lessons on electrical safety in centres of social protection of children. In addition, the power engineers expressed their readiness to provide these centres with appropriate methodological and didactic recommendations, printed products, electronic presentations, which can be used in the conduct of lessons.
