General Director of IDGC of Centre Oleg Isaev had a working visit to the Tver region

5 March 2018

During the working trip, the head of IDGC of Centre took part in a working meeting with the head of the region Igor Rudenya, and also held a meeting with staff of the Tver branch of the company - Tverenergo.

At the meeting with Governor of the Tver region, priority issues for improving the reliability of electricity supply to consumers in the region were discussed. In December last year, an agreement was signed between the Government of the Tver region and PJSC Rosseti on the large-scale reconstruction of the power grid complex of the Upper Volga region, which is characterized by a high grid length, coupled with their low density and weak loading, primarily due to the lack of large industrial consumers. Wear of equipment (the main facilities were created in the 1960s and 1970s) and the abundance of closed feeding centres require substantial investments in renovation and maintenance of reliability of power supply for consumers in the Tver region.

By February of this year, the "Target Program for Improving Reliability and Development of Electricity Supply to Consumers of the Tver Region" was developed, the implementation of which is scheduled for 2018-2019. Now the program, which includes the repair and reconstruction of existing power grid assets, as well as the construction of new supply centres and power lines and clearing of ROWs is passing its approval.

"According to the decision of the RF Ministry of Energy and PJSC Rosseti, the Tver region received an investment of 5 billion rubles for the development of electric grid facilities. For us, this is a landmark, a very responsible project. The result of its implementation should be stable electricity supply to the territory of the region," emphasized Igor Rudenya.

"The program to improve the reliability of electricity supply will make up for the forced gaps in the maintenance of power grid facilities of the Tver region, primarily related to inadequate financing. The implementation of the program is an unprecedented fact in the history of the Russian energy industry in creating a financial and economic model for the project implementation. 5 billion rubles will be spent taking into account a fundamentally new approach: the construction of managed digital grids, the widespread use of self-supporting insulated wire, the use of other advanced technologies. For the most effective implementation of the program, a strong manager with strong experience in the energy sector has been selected from regions of IDGC of Centre’s single management, which from now on will head the Tverenergo branch - Alexander Tsaregorodtsev, who previously headed the Kirov branch of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region.

Also, as part of the working trip, Oleg Isaev held a meeting with the management of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre, as well as a meeting with Tverenergo’s staff. CEO of the company drew the attention of the staff to the high degree of responsibility of power engineers in the region. Reliable operation of the power grid complex, its development and modernization are key areas that give prospects for the Tver region’s economic growth.

"The work that you do is very important," Oleg Isaev addressed his colleagues. "Especially now, when the country is in difficult conditions, and we must confidently cope with all the challenges that reality gives us."

Oleg Isaev stressed that in the near future one of the main tasks for the staff is to ensure uninterrupted power supply to polling stations on the day of the presidential election. In the service area of Tverenergo there are more than 750 polling stations, all in all in the region there are about 1,200. Each of them is under special control of power engineers. In close cooperation with the executive authorities, the main department of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Tver region and territorial grid companies, power supply circuits for electoral districts are being checked. The fleet of reserve sources of electric power supply has been checked and prepared for use. On the voting day, the company’s operating and first responding staff will be on duty, ready in case of an emergency situation, to leave as soon as possible for a place of elimination of technological failures in power supply.
