IDGC of Centre to take an active part in events of the Year of Safety Culture in the Kursk region

2018 has been declared in the Kursk region as the Year of Life Safety Culture of the population. IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division will actively participate in the implementation of activities aimed at enhancing the safety culture in various areas of activity of organizations and the population of the region.

Power engineers will hold a contest of children’s drawings on the topic of safety for pupils of general educational institutions. Open doors days will take place in all 30 Distribution Zones of Kurskenergo with participation of high schoolers, university and college students: specialists of the branch and veterans of the enterprise will tell guests about the danger of electricity, familiarize them with the rules of behaviour near power facilities, explain what warning signs mean.

Throughout the year, Kurskenergo’s specialists together with representatives of administrations of the districts of the regional centre and municipal districts of the Kursk region will conduct electrical safety lessons for pre-school children and schoolchildren, and seminars on electrical safety for teachers. In addition, the power engineers will provide schools with thematic benefits: disks with materials for prevention of children’s electric injuries, posters, timetables for classes containing electrical safety rules, etc.

During the summer holidays, Kurskenergo’s specialists traditionally organize a series of electrical safety classes in health camps and daytime rest camps, where they will tell children why it is not allowed to fish near power lines and climb poles, approach transformer substations and try to get into their premises.

It is expected that in total, more than 3,000 children from 4 to 16 years old will take part in the events organized by the Kursk branch of IDGC of Centre in the framework of the Year of Safety Culture.
