Nikolay Ryabinin, IDGC of Centre’s employee, was awarded the title of grand master of FIDE

An electrician for repair of windings and insulation of electrical equipment at Zherdevsky section of the distribution grid office of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division Nikolay Ryabinin was awarded the title of Grandmaster of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) in chess composition (making chess problems and endgame studies). The decision to award the power engineer with the highest chess rank was made at the 60th International Congress of Chess Composition in Dresden.

Nikolay Ryabinin has been fond of chess for more than 35 years, in 2004 he was awarded the title of international master. He is a two-time champion of Russia in making chess problems, has repeatedly won prizes at All-Russian and regional competitions. The International Grandmaster’s title was also awarded to Nikolay for his success in this direction of chess creativity. Over the past 20 years, FIDE’s albums published more than 40 works of his. Thanks to this, the power engineer scored the required number of points and became International Grandmaster.

The title "International Grandmaster" was formally established by FIDE in 1949. It is assigned for life for outstanding achievements in international competitions.
