IDGC of Centre saved about 15 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the first half of the year

10 August 2017

IDGC of Centre summed up the results of the implementation of the energy saving and energy efficiency improvement program for 6 months of 2017. The overall effect of its implementation was 14.85 million kWh.

A large amount of savings - 10 million kWh - was obtained from the implementation of the program’s organizational activities, including switching off of transformers in low load modes in substations with two or more transformers, disconnection of seasonally loaded transformers, and equalization of phase loads in 0.38 kV distribution networks.

4.57 million kWh was saved due to the implementation of technical measures: replacement of wires for a larger cross-section on power lines and replacement of wires of taps of overhead lines in residential houses with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW).

In addition, the company reduced by 1.78 million kWh, or 2.5% of the planned figures, electricity consumption for utility needs. The power engineers replace incandescent lamps with energy-saving LEDs. Since the beginning of the year 345 lamps have been replaced, the expected annual effect from this work is 97.2 thousand kWh.

The expected effect of the implementation of energy-saving measures in IDGC of Centre following the results of 2017, according to the plan, should reach 33.2 million kWh.
