A meat distribution centre of one of Russia’s largest retail chains "Auchan Russia" was put into operation in the Tambov region. The power supply to the new enterprise was provided by IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division. The opening ceremony of the centre was attended by the president of the chain "Auchan Retail Russia" Jean-Pierre Germain, the head of the administration of the Tambov region Alexander Nikitin, representatives of the leadership of large companies in the region. IDGC of Centre at the ceremony was represented by Vladimir Syschikov, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division director.
The new centre is engaged in the processing of carcasses of large and small cattle and the production of semi-finished products for stores of the chain "Auchan Retail Russia" in different regions of the country. Its design annual capacity is 70 thousand tons. The minimum volume of production at the initial stage after launch will be 350 tons of finished products per week, the maximum volume, according to plans, in 5 years will reach 1.4 thousand tons per week.
IDGC of Centre within the framework of the grid connection contract of the new enterprise laid 14.4 km of 6 kV cable lines and upgraded the 110/6 kV substation "October" through which the power supply of the facility is carried out. This is the second major project in the field of agro-industry, implemented with the participation of the company in the Tambov region in 2017. Previously, the power company provided power supply to a facility for breeding and processing of poultry of LLC "Tambov turkey" with a capacity of 50 thousand tons of turkey meat per year. This project is implemented by one of the largest agro-industrial companies in Russia PJSC "Cherkizovo Group" and one of the leaders in turkey production in Europe, Grupo Fuertes (Spain).
Both of these projects are of great importance for the economic development of the Tambov region, and make a significant contribution to the Doctrine of Food Security of the Russian Federation, the implementation of the state policy of import substitution and the program for development of the domestic agro-industrial complex.
