Kurskenergo’s specialists restored power supply to consumers of the Kursk region, interrupted by bad weather

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division has restored the power supply to consumers of the Kursk region, which was interrupted by the stormy front that passed through the region’s territory on the night of 29 to 30 July 2017.

Based on the forecast of the Hydrometcentre of Russia on the worsening of weather conditions, a high availability mode was introduced in the Kurskenergo branch in advance. 50 crews, more than a hundred people and 78 specialized vehicles quickly began to eliminate technological violations.

First responding and restoration work did not stop all night. During the night, Kurskenergo’s specialists isolated faults on 10 kV power lines. As of 11:30 on 30 July, all 110, 35 and 10 kV power lines are connected to normal circuits, the substation equipment is functioning without comment.

Now in the service area of Kurskenergo electricity is supplied to consumers according to the regular scheme. In some districts of the region, work is still under way on the 0.4 kV network at the request of consumers, including those located in remote areas. Active interaction is conducted with heads of municipalities, which provide detailed information on causes of power interruptions to Kurskenergo’s dispatch services. This allows the power engineers to optimize their routes and rational use of special equipment. Until the end of the working day, Kurskenergo’s specialists will completely eliminate all technological violations in the electricity supply of consumers caused by the passage of the thunderstorm front.
