Power engineers of the Kursk branch of IDGC of Centre shared their experience with colleagues from the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Republic of Tatarstan

Representatives of the regional dispatch offices (RDO) of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Nizhny Novgorod region visited IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division. The trip was organized with the purpose of studying the two-level system of operational and technological management of electric grid facilities (OTM), implemented by Kurskenergo several years ago.

The guests from the Volga region visited the Grid Control Centre (GCC) of the branch where Alexander Rudnevsky, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division director, told them about the advantages of the new OTM structure. Please, be reminded that the transition of Kurskenergo from a three-tier to a two-tier management model was completed in 2013. In particular, the Grid Control Centre was established within it, which assumed the functions of technological management of operational dispatch services of production units.

As Alexander Rudnevsky noted, the new system allowed to avoid duplication of functions at the level of the production department and the executive office, to more effectively manage personnel, to plan and supervise the work of crews. As a result, the time for eliminating technological violations was reduced, and the reliability of the electric grid complex in the region increased.

The efficiency of the transition to the two-tier management system is also confirmed by the main production indicators of Kurskenergo, the director of the enterprise emphasized. Investment and repair programs, preparation for the autumn-winter maximum of loads are implemented in full and in due time. Actual losses of electricity are reduced: by the end of 2016 this figure in the grids of Kurskenergo amounted to 17 million kWh, or 0.67% of the approved plan.

The guests thanked the management and specialists of Kurskenergo for the opportunity to see the new management system in action. They appreciated its advantages, and also noted the high level of professional training of the dispatching personnel of the GCC.
