Crews of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region overcame the equator of the professional skills competitions in Penza

25 July 2017

By the present moment, thanks to the professionalism and precise teamwork the power engineers of IDGC of Centre have earned a total of 916 points. IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, as a result of passing five stages, has 884 points.

IDGC of Centre completed the past day of the competitions with a result of 291 points, which in the sum brought to it the stages "Primary connection of the residential house from the existing 0.4 kV overhead line with a hydraulic lift" and "Maintenance of the 10 kV disconnector using a hydraulic lift (working from a hydraulic lift truck basket model from the ground)". Today, according to the schedule, the team has a break to recover before the two final tests.

The power engineers of Kirovenergo, representing IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, during the fourth day of the competitions also conducted maintenance of the disconnector and showed the best result at the moment among all the teams - 193 points - at the stage "Organization and holding of fire extinguishing at the 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation. Clerance of the fire crew".

"The first sub-step, which assesses the knowledge of crews of regulatory documents and practical skills of personnel, lasts 15 minutes," says Alexander Markin, the senior judge of the stage. "During this time, the team must prepare a workplace, disconnect electrical equipment and clear firefighters to firefighting. The second takes only a minute: the participants must independently extinguish the baking tray with the burning liquid, which simulates the oil intake tank. First, one person must do it, then two members of the crew at the same time. As practice shows, group firefighting is more difficult: inconsistency of actions can significantly worsen the overall result.

Today, the Kirov power engineers will have to replace the main switch in the transformer substation and carry out measurements of 0.4 kV insulation resistance. In parallel, Ivan Tynchik from IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo, participating in the World Championship of Young Professionals (Worldskills Hi-Tech), will complete the last module of corporate competitions.

Please, be reminded that the All-Russian competitions of professional skills of personnel for repair and maintenance of equipment of distribution networks and cable networks are held from 21 to 28 July in Penza. Winners will be named at the closing ceremony.
