IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are competing for victory in the professional skills competitions

24 July 2017

The power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region - Kirovenergo during the professional skills competitions of personnel for repair and maintenance of distribution networks continue to demonstrate high qualification and ability to solve production problems qualitatively.

On 24 July, IDGC of Centre’s team went to the Penza training centre with 625 points for four passed stages. Yesterday the crew replaced the main switch in the transformer substation (TS) and the defective insulator at the package transformer substation.

"Regardless of the type of TS, the technology of replacement of the insulator is quite universal," comments the senior judge of the 8th stage Sergey Ivanov. "The key steps are regulated in detail by the current regulatory and technical documentation. It is unacceptable to omit any operations, because failure to perform any of them entails the incorrect execution of the next one, and as a result may threaten the most severe consequences. Therefore, within the framework of the competitions, not only the speed but also the quality of the replacement of the failed equipment is assessed, as well as the clearance of the team, the preparation of the workplace and the observance of the rules of safety in the operation of electrical installations."

The completed on the eve tasks in the sum brought the power engineers 290 points. Today, IDGC of Centre’s crew again has to overcome two stages: "Primary connection of a residential house from an existing 0.4 kV overhead line using a hydraulic lift" and "Maintenance of a 10 kV disconnector using a hydraulic lift (working from a hydraulic lift truck basket model from the ground)".

The second of these tests also awaits the power engineers of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, who will also have to ensure the clearance of the fire crew and put out the fire at electrical equipment. The Kirov residents have already completed three competitive tasks, earning a total of 551 points. One of the most intense stages, involving the release of the victim from the action of electric current and providing him with first aid, the day before, brought the crew 169 points.

In addition, within the framework of the "Young Professionals (Worldskills Hi-Tech)" competition part, Ivan Tynchik, representing IDGC of Centre, today will have to pass computer testing using the ASOP-Expert software. A participant from IDGC of Centre and Volga Region, Vsevolod Azhnakin, will complete the last module of the corporate Championship by installing the coupler on the power cable.

Please, be reminded that the solemn closing and the ceremony of awarding winners of the competitions will be held on Friday, 28 July.
