A new wave of the cyclone with thunderstorms and wind increase that passed tonight through the territory of the Orel region caused new technological disturbances in the Orel region. The most affected were Glazunovsky, Krasnozorensky, Verkhovsky, Novoderivenkovsky and Novosilsky districts.
Power engineers of IDGC of Centre – Orelenergo division immediately began to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather. Already during the night they were able to localize major damage associated with the fall of trees and wire breaks on power lines. At present, employees of Distribution Zones are engaged in the elimination of individual damages at the request of consumers. Parallel to this night, work continued in the Orlovsky and Pokrovsky districts, the most affected the day before with the first wave of the thunderstorm front. The new cyclone prevented them from completing it, the elimination of the consequences of which took some forces and means. In Orlovsky district Orelenergo’s employees eliminated 30 wire breaks on 0.4 kV overhead lines and restored power supply under 48 customers’ requests.
Currently, Orelenergo continues to run a special mode of operation, involving a 24-hour emergency response. 32 crews of 83 people are working with the help of 41 vehicles, including repair crews from district of the Orel region that are unaffected by bad weather. Completely eliminate technological disruptions in the energy networks are planned until the end of the day.
