Power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region promptly eliminate the consequences of bad weather

29 May 2017

In connection with the complicated meteorological situation power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region have been brought to an increased readiness.

In particular, forces of the Lipetsk, Smolensk, Tver, Tambov and Yaroslavl branches have been mobilized in the regions where IDGC of Centre operates. In the regions where IDGC of Centre and Volga Region operates - Ivanovo, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod branches. The branches of Tulenergo, Ryazanenergo and Vladimirenergo are operating in a special mode.

In the regions with the most difficult weather conditions, meetings of crisis management centres have been held. A special control over the operation of power facilities has been set. An information exchange has been organized with the territorial subdivisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and executive authorities. Also at the disposal of the branches there are reserve sources of power supply, which, if necessary, can be used for temporary power supply, primarily to socially important facilities of the regions.

As a result of the passage of the atmospheric front through the territory of the Central and Volga districts accompanied by a thunderstorm, rain and strong gusts of wind, local power outages occurred which were quickly eliminated.

The power engineers of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region continue to monitor the equipment operation. When there are calls from consumers for a power failure, they are all processed immediately.

In addition, the power engineers warn that after passing through the atmospheric front, power line wires may be damaged by trees falling under the pressure of a strong wind. In order not to fall under voltage, it is necessary to remember: it is mortally dangerous to approach trees lying on wires (since they can remain energized), saggy or torn wires. If there is a broken wire on your path, do not approach it closer than 8 metres. If you are at a closer distance, move away from the wire without taking your feet off the ground.

For all questions residents can contact the numbers of the Contact Centres of the energy companies: 8-800-50-50-115 (IDGC of Centre) and 8-800-100-33-00 (IDGC of Centre and Volga Region).
