Today, on 27 April, IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division on the ice arena of SC "Yubileiny" hosted the solemn opening of the Ice Hockey Tournament among teams of subsidiaries and affiliates of PJSC "Rosseti". A large-scale sports festival for the first time gathered on one ice hockey teams of power engineers from all over the country.
Teams of PJSC "FGC UES", PJSC "IDGC of Siberia", PJSC "IDGC of North-West", JSC "Tyumenenergo", PJSC "IDGC of Centre and Volga region", PJSC "IDGC of South", PJSC "MOESK" and, of course, the host team - IDGC of Centre came to compete for the right to become the best hockey team of the power grid complex of Russia.
Currently, on the ice sports grounds of the sports complex there are play-off matches. Fans in the stands actively support the power engineers. But the most exciting games are expected tomorrow, 28 April, when amateur hockey players will play the main prize - the tournament winner’s cup!
The opening ceremony was attended by guests of honour. Ilya Kholodov, a deputy of the Tver City Duma, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the Head of the city of Tver. He stressed that the capital of the Upper Volga and hockey have been inseparable for many decades. There has grown up more than one generation of famous hockey players. "With confidence and pride we assert that Tver ice brings good luck!" he noted.
Inna Gromova, Deputy General Director for HR Management and Organizational Design of IDGC of Centre, welcoming the participants of the tournament, underlined its importance for rallying the labour teams of the subsidiaries and affiliates of PJSC "Rosseti" and expressed the hope that the competitions will become annual. "We are pleased that the traditional ice hockey tournament of IDGC of Centre has grown to such a scale and we expect that the number of teams participating in the Ice Hockey Tournament of Rosseti will grow from year to year," she added.
Speaking with a welcome speech, Vadim Yurchenko, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division director said: "On the ice of the Yubileyny Sports Complex, teams of power grid companies from the South to the North-West, from Siberia to Central Russia, are represented. That means different characters and temperaments will converge on the ice, which promises us bright and spectacular ice battles. I wish all power engineering hockey players healthy emotions, gambling victories and, of course, grateful fans!"
Also for the participants of the competitions and fans, the Anthem of the Russian Federation was performed by Vladimir Tretyakov, Chief Engineer of Manturovsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division.
