Deputy Chief Engineer for Operations - Head of High-Voltage Grids of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division Sergey Skornyakov was awarded the title "Honoured Power Engineer of the Russian Federation". As stated in the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation, it was given to him "for merits in the field of energy and long-term conscientious work".
Sergey Skornyakov came to the power industry in 1981 after graduation from the Kursk Polytechnic Institute. He started as an engineer in the Central Service for Lightning Protection and Testing of High Voltage Equipment of Regional Energy Office "Kurskenergo", then worked as a senior preventive testing engineer for many years. In 2000-2010 he headed the electrical engineering service and the technical maintenance service of Kurskenergo, after which he was appointed to the current position.
Sergey Skornyakov made a great contribution to construction and reconstruction of power facilities – the 35-110 kV substations "Rodniki", "Kotelnaya", "Vozrozhdenie", "Centralnaya" and "Mansurovo", significant for the power grid complex of the Kursk region. He participated in the formation of long-term and annual work plans of Kurskenergo for the overhaul and maintenance of equipment of 35/110 kV substations and grids, in the implementation of targeted programs for the replacement of substation equipment and power lines. He transfers his great production experience and knowledge to his young colleagues: in the framework of his mentoring Sergey Skornyakov trained for independent work a number of specialists, many of whom are currently managers of different levels.
This is not the first professional award of Sergey Skornyakov. For many years of conscientious work, he was previously awarded the title "Honorary Power Engineer" and "Honorary Worker of the Fuel and Energy Industry", was awarded the Certificate of Honour of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the Russian Federation, was repeatedly encouraged by the company and branch management.
