IDGC of Centre invests in power grid facilities of the Belgorod region

6 March 2017

In the current year IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division plans to construct and reconstruct a total of 696 km of power lines, upgrade 7 substations, provide power grid infrastructure to enterprises, social facilities and new private housing estates. According to forecasts the amount of commissioned transformer capacity will be 131 MVA.

The program of re-equipment and reconstruction of dilapidated and end-of-life grids was increased two times. About 733 million rubles will be allocated for improving the reliability by replacing 260 km of lines and reconstruction of 93 transformer substations of 6,10/0.4 kV. The reconstruction will cover 35 city and village settlements in twenty districts of the region. The most significant volumes are planned in Belgorod and Biryuch, Tavrovo and Tomarovka, the villages of Nasonovo and Zasosna in Valuisky and Krasnogvardeisky districts.

More than 120 million rubles will be invested in improving the reliability of electric grid facilities in Shebekinsky and Belgorodsky districts. A new 35 kV cable line will provide mutual reserve of the adjacent 35-110 kV feeding centres "Murom" and "New Tavolzhanka". For connection of new customers in the substation "Murom" another power transformer of 2,500 kVA will be installed. These substations and the 110 kV Substations "Shebekino" and "Cheremoshnoye", providing electricity for more than 34 thousand customers, including large enterprises and agribusinesses — BEZRK-Belgrankorm, Belaya Ptica, Belgorod Bacon — will undergo comprehensive modernization.

This year the reconstruction of the 35-110 kV Substations "Pushkarnaya", "Malinovka" and "Belyanka" will be completed. More than 250 million rubles will be spent to finance the work, the total investment in these projects has already exceeded 1 billion rubles. The Substation 110 kV "Pushkarnaya", constructed in the 1980s, with its installed capacity of 80 MVA, has undergone radical modernization. The branch has upgraded and improved its equipment and technological systems, installed modern means of remote control. Instead of obsolete 110 kV isolating and short-circuiting switches 110 kV gas-insulated circuit breakers were installed at the facility. All indicators of the feeding centre, which provides power supply to 35 thousand inhabitants of Stary Oskol, now in real-time are under control of special microprocessor relay protection units, characterized by instantaneous response to emergency situations.

The Substation 35 kV "Belyanka" supplies electricity to 15 localities in Shebekinsky district, a poultry farm and social facilities. For the current year it is planned to connect another major agricultural enterprise to it – a poultry raising site of LLC "Belyanka" and an incubation shop with a total capacity of 2 MVA. Completion of the comprehensive modernization will eliminate the emerging power shortage.

The key substation "Malinovka" this year will be transferred to the voltage of 110 kV. The reliability of power supply of industrial, household and agribusinesses will grow significantly. Two power transformers of 16 MVA each will be installed at the new feeding centre. The 110 kV outdoor switchgear is made using modern gas-insulated circuit breakers and disconnectors with electric and polymeric supporting-rod insulation. All equipment is protected against overvoltage and equipped with microprocessor relay protection units, which, in real time will monitor performance of the power facility and instantly respond to emergency situations.

About 1 billion rubles will be also allocated for connection of customers to the grid of Belgorodenergo. It is planned to connect at least ten large agricultural enterprises, built within the program of import substitution, as well as hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses.
